Grifco was established in 1914. The company has been designing and manufacturing industrial door operators for over 50 years. Already the market leader in Australia, Grifco is expanding to meet international demand and has developed the world's most user friendly and technologically advanced roller door operator - the Maestro.
The following chart will assist with identifying the appropriate operator for your door.
KW
Motor power in Kilowatts
A
Full load amperage rating
HP
Motor power in horsepower
V
Voltage
PH
3 phase or single (1) phase
SIZE
Maximum door size capacity
IP
Index of protection
DUTY
Duty cycle - High Cycle Rated (HCR) or Short Time Rated (STR)
* Based upon a "standard shutter" as defined in the Grifco specification book
Please Note:
All operators are Left or Right hand specific. When odering, please specify an "L" or an "R" to the end of every part number. For example ML103L for left hand configuration or ML103R for right hand conficuration.
Refer to the options for each operator, where provided, to determine the unit you need to order. For example, if a Mechanical Maestro unit is needed, add an "M" to the model number (ML103ML or ML103MR).
All 3 phase operators require neutral supply. Check each operator's options to see if a No-Neutral configuration is available.

In the product descriptions, these symbols indicate that the product is part of, or compatible with, the Maestro Electronic or Mechanical operator range.
Maestro Operators (Electronic)
The Grifco Maestro range takes the proven mechanical qualities from our long history of manufacturing industrial operators, and adds extensive functionality through electronics. Maestro Electronic Operators can provide many additional benefits over Mechanical Operators and some of the features are listed below:
Compatibility issues between control and motor are no longer the customers concern
The Electrician only connects power to 3 phase models, with no extensive hardwiring needed
All 240 Volt models include ‘plug in’ appliance lead
Push button set limits from the Controller with almost unlimited travel (no need to access limits at the operator).
3 limit positions standard with every operator
Upgrade to remote control on all Maestro Electronic operators without the need for full ‘logic control’
Door direction detection (prevents reverse rolling of door in the event of polarity being changed)
All operators can be expanded to cover virtually every industry specified operational requirement
Controllers and accessories all simply ‘plug in’ using RJ45 cable
Gearbox & motor now have cooling fins for improved heat dissipation, greater efficiency & less wear
Electric motor less prone to damage with capacitors now protected on 240volt models
Self breathing gearbox (no plug removal)
Digital current sensing overload (software set)
Instant locked rotor detection
Onboard mains and control fuse protection
Each Maestro operator comes complete with the following items:
Main controls fitted to the operator
Push button Controller C10A (low voltage)
6m of cable for Controller connection to main board (plug-in)
Mounting bolts
ACEM (Automatic Chain Engage Mechanism)
Installation & user instructions
All Maestro Electronic operators come standard with 3 limit positions and the ability to accept basic remote control without logic controls. All Maestro operators will also accept a Safety Edge or Photo Beam with instant reversing capability.
Maestro Operators (Mechanical)
The Maestro mechanical operators are the new generation of MD58 operators, using the Maestro gearbox and new Grifco motor. All Maestro mechanical operators feature our proven LSMD5 limit switch module and are connected to reversing starters for up / down push button control. This reliable operator is available in almost all voltages, hp’s & cycle ratings.
Features of the mechanical operators are:
Proven mechanical limit switch module
Robust gearbox with ACEM device
No breather plugs to remove
Strong electric motor with cooling fins
Maestro mechanical operators are sold separately & do not include the reversing starter.
